Winchester model 1894 saddle-ring carbine, .30-30 caliber, serial #991811. With affidavits as belonging to famous exhibition and trick shooters Ad Topperwein and Ernie Lind. The Topperweins worked with Winchester as exhibition shooters from 1901 to the 1940’s and after their retirement, Ernie and Dot Lind (The Shooting Linds) succeeded them. The Linds were located in New Hampshire and entertained crowds with their exhibition shooting for over 30 years. A notarized affidavit signed Mrs. Ernie Lind describes the rifle and testifies to the fact it was given to Ernie Lind by Topperwein in 1945 with photographs of Lind and Topperwein, other promotional information, and traces the decent through well-known collectors since its sale in 1992 by Mrs. Lind. The carbine remains in very good plus to near fine condition with 90% original blue on barrel and magazine tube. 50-70% blue on frame. Some drifting on the edges of the frame, minor scratches, normal use. The stock is good to very good, the buttplate shows 75% finish, the action is tight, the bore is good. Est: $4,000 - $6,000
