Winchester model 1892 lever action rifle, 24" octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle butt, .38-40 caliber, in very good plus to near fine original condition. Serial #110004, made about 1897. The barrel and magazine tube show approx. 85-95%original blue just starting to tone and dull slightly with some losses at the edges, some minor scratches, just starting staining, erosion, and age. The frame shows approx. 50-70% blue on left side, 70-85% blue on right side. There are somenotable scratches on left side, minor scratches on right side, some beginning erosion and slight staining. The hammer shows 50-60% case hardening, the lever shows 80-90% case hardening. The stock is very good plus with 80-90% varnish, great woodto metal fit, some minor scratches and storage mars, slight imperfections, mostly in the forend. The buttplate shows 30% case hardening drifting to silver. The action is tight, the bore is near excellent. A collector's grade '92. Est: $1,400 -$2,800
