Winchester model 1886 special order rifle, 26" half round, half octagon barrel. 38-56 caliber, full magazine, crescent butt, unidentified tang sight made for windage and elevation which appears hand-made and is similar to Pope. Unidentifiedhandmade folding rear sight fight into original dovetail. Serial #67682. The metal surfaces are fair to good and barrel shows some heavy cleaning to grey, now drifting back to patina. The magazine tube shows some blue drifting to brown and somepitting. The frame shows slight traces of case color drifted to silver. The forend cap has gone to a dark patina. The buttstock has been broken at the wrist and well repaired. Forend shows a light coating of clear varnish and is good. The actionis good and tight, the bore is very good. Est: $1,750 - $3,500
