Winchester model 1886 lever-action rifle, 26" round barrel, .45-90 caliber, half magazine, blued finish, shotgun butt, British proofed, #133306. Shipped March 1st, 1905 with yellow research form. The rifle shows 60-80% original blue on barreland magazine tube, some drifting and losses at the edges, beginning erosion and normal aging. The frame shows 30-50% original blue, evenly toning with losses at the top of the action. The hammer and lever show considerable case hardening. Thestocks are good to very good with minor losses and normal wear. The rifle is fitted with a period buckhorn rear sight and shows evidence of having been fitted with an express type rear sight which was changed during its use.
