Winchester model 1886 deluxe lever-action rifle, .40-65 caliber, 26” octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle butt, blue and case hardened finish, checkered burl walnut stock, serial #35692. The rifle remains in original fine to near excellent condition showing 90-95% original blue on barrel, thinning on the edges and muzzle but generally sharp and crisp with excellent address and just minor beginning age. The magazine tube shows 75-85% original blue that is toning slightly with some minor scratches and losses at the end. The frame shows 50-70% case hardening drifting naturally to silvery-grey with some areas of colors showing strong and some fiery colors where protected. The bolt shows 80-90% thinning original blue. The loading gate shows 75-85% thinning blue. The lever shows 70-80% case hardening with some vivid and fiery areas that are excellent. The hammer shows 50-70% toning case hardening. The checkered walnut stocks are near excellent with sharp original checkering, just some minor storage marks and slight scratches and at least 80-90% varnish with near perfect wood to metal fit. The forend cap shows 30-50% toning case hardening. The buttplate shows traces of case hardening going to patina. The rifle is mounted with its original sights and the interior shows almost no use with bright bore. A pristine and unmolested deluxe 1886. Est: $14,000 - $28,000
