Winchester model 1876 lever-action rifle, .40-60 caliber, 28” round barrel, full mag, rifle butt, period tang sight, serial #56121. The rifle shows 70-80% original blue on barrel and magazine tube, evenly drifting and starting to tone. The markin are sharp, the edges are crisp. The rear sight dovetail has been filled with a blank. The frame shows 20-30% thinning blue finish drifting to a pleasing patina with just some slight erosion, pinprick pitting just starting. The forend cap matches the frame with traces of blue. The hammer shows 30-50% mottled case hardening as does the lever. The markings on lifter are well defined. The forend is good and shows a coating of shalack or varnish and no sanding. The buttstock has been lightly cleaned with steel wool, shows some dings and mars, no reduction in size, and fits the metal well. The buttplate shows a grey patina, the action is good, the bore is good. Est: $3,750 - $5,750
