Winchester model 1876, .45 caliber, opentop rifle, serial #465. The rifle shows 28” octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle butt. The rifle shows a smooth brown patina finish, some scattered brown light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting, and some surface rust but generally good metal surfaces with good barrel address. The stocks are slightly undersized against the metal from wear and light sanding, repair to where the stock was broken, and are generally fair to good overall with a couple small losses at the edges. The rifle shows a later Winchester 3-leaf rear sight in the original dove tail and a hand-made silver blade in original post in the front original dovetail. The rifle shows the early reinforced toe to the buttplate which is correct. The action is good, the bore is slightly rough with a ring at the center. Would be difficult to find an earlier 3-digit opentop ’76. The opentop is a significant and sought after variation and this is a very low number. Est: $5,000 - $10,000

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
