Winchester model 1873 special order .32-20 caliber 24” octagon barrel, case hardened, full magazine, select checkered straight grip stock, set trigger, rifle butt, received in the warehouse February 2nd 1887, February 23rd 1887 to order number 15486, with copy of factory letter that confirms features. The rifle remains in good to very good original condition showing 20-30% blue mixed in with a browning patina. The barrel and magazine tube show some lightening of color at the edges, some minor scratches, just beginning light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting, mostly at the front 4” of the muzzle. The markings are sharp, the edges are crisp. The frame shows good traces of case hardening within a mottled brown patina. The stocks have been lightly refreshed, show a couple of small losses and minor repairs. The checkering has also been freshened. The set trigger is working. The bore is fair to good and may clean as it is dirty with cobwebs. The hammer is not holding when cocked. Est: $2,500 - $3,500
