Winchester model 1873 semi-deluxe rifle, .44-40 caliber, 24” octagon barrel, full magazine, crescent butt, blue and case hardened finish, select wood stocks, serial #123718A. The barrel and magazine tube show75-85% original blue evenly drifting and toning with some patina, normal age just starting. The barrel address is sharp, edges are crisp. There is a light “FD” engraved with intertwining initials near the breechthat is so light that it almost canot be seen. The frame shows 40-60% case hardening drifting and toning nicely with some very good areas of rainbow colors where protected. The loading gate shows 60-70% thinningoriginal blue. The forend cap and butt show strong traces of case hardening drifting to patina. The stocks are very good plus to near fine with most of their varnish, some even aging, minor marks, just slight storage. Theaction is good, bore is good and may clean to excellent.
