Winchester model 1873 lever action carbine, factory full nickel plated, received in the warehouse July 25th, 1881, shipped Sept 14, 1881 with 32 other carbines with same specifications to same order number. Serial number “70572” with factory letter. The carbine remains in original good condition, showing strong traces of original nickel within a polished metal surfaces. There is some scattered light to moderate pitting and some heavy pitting on the rear of the frame and on right side of barrel and magazine tube which extends approx. 4”. The stocks are fair to good with some dings, mars, scratches, weathering, and small losses. The barrel address is good and all correct carbine features are retained. The action is good, interior fair to good with a slight ring in the bore. Found on a ranch in New Mexico, not very far from the hideout of Billy the Kid. Est.: $3,000-$6,000.
