Winchester model 1873 lever-action carbine, .44-40 caliber, blued finish, standard wood stocks, fine to excellent original condition, serial #551547B. The barrel and magazine tube show 90-95% original blue, some slight toning, just beginning ligh age and some spots of light erosion just starting to form. The frame shows 75-85% original blue, thing at the edges and top of frame with some scratches from saddle ring and normal thinning. The loading gate shows 75-85% original blue. The stocks are very good plus to near fine with some minor dings and mars in the forend, some slight scratches, and buttstock is near excellent with just some minor storage marks. The correct bands, carbine rear sights, and small parts are retained. Buttplate shows traces of original color, the hammer shows 50-70% case hardening. The lever shows 20-30% case hardening. The action is crisp and tight, the bore is excellent. The carbine has little use and has been well preserved. Extremely hard to find a 73 carbine in this high of condition. Est: $10,000 - $20,000
