Winchester model 1873, .32-20 caliber, semi deluxe rifle, 24” octagon barrel, button mag, blue and case hardened finish, select wood stocks. Serial number 101961A. The rifle remains in near fine original condition showing 90-95% original blue on barrel, some drifting at the edges, minor toning, and some small areas of erosion just starting and natural aging. The barrel address and caliber markings are ultra sharp. The frame shows 75-85% case hardened colors, beginning to mute and tone and drift at the edges with some erosion and darkening developing, mostly on the right side plate and a few small areas. The case hardening is still showing strong with some very fiery areas. The dust cover shows 95% original blue, the forend cap shows traces of case hardening drifting to silvery grey, as does the butt plate. The select plain varnish stocks are very good plus with a few minor marks, some storage, and very light even aging. A few bumps and mars from storage. The loading gate shows 90-95% bright original blue, the hammer and lever show 70-80% case hardening with some vivid areas. The action is good, the bore is near excellent. A crisp 73 with colors that Winchester collectors like to see. Est.: $9,000-$18,000.
