Winchester model 1873, 1st model rifle, .44-40 caliber, 24” round barrel, full magazine, crescent rifle butt, serial #21500. Received in warehouse Sept 29th, 1876, shipped August 4th, 1877 to order #9682. Therifle remains in near fine original condition showing 80-90% original blue, some losses at the edges, some minor erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. The barrel address is sharp, dust cover shows 75% blue. The loading gate shows strong 85% blue. The hammer and lever show 50-60% mottled case hardening> The stocks are very good plus with some dings, mars, slight scratches, normal use and carry. The butt plate shows traces of casehardening, the forend cap shows most of its original blue. The sights, small parts are retained. The action is good, bore is very good plus and still bright. An exceptional 1st model 73 that are hard to fine with anytrace of blue. Est: $8,000 - $12,000
