Winchester model 1866 saddle-ring carbine, .44 Henry Rimfire caliber, serial #119618. The carbine shows a uncleaned dark patina, and the barrel shows a deep brown with traces of blue mixed in. The barrel shows some light to slightly heavy pinprick pitting. The areas of heavier pitting are small and on the top of the barrel forward of the rear band and at the rear of the muzzle. The barrel address is sharp and clear. The frame shows a deep brown patina with some green vertigre growing. The stocks are good and show some application of schalack or laquer, wear to the edges, darkening from scorching, small losses, no sanding, just an overcoating. The buttplate shows the same dark patina, the action is working, the bore is rough. The correct sights and small parts are retained. The screws on the left side of the frame have been marred and the frame slightly abused in these areas. A carbine that is a bit better than it sounds with a great patina on the frame.
