Winchester model 12, 20ga, pump-action shotgun, factory 26” barrel, raised rib, modified choke, 2-3/4” chamber, standard wood stocks, left side of receiver engraved in initials A. T. for Ad Topperwein. The gun retains approx. 80-90% blue finish, thinning at the edges, the stock is very good plus showing some dings, mars, normal use. Recoil pad attached. Action good, bore very good. Letter from well-known Winchester dealer Leroy Merz states this gun listed in a group that he obtained from Winchester as presented to Topperwein, day of presentation 9/16/1946 upon Topperwein’s retirement. Ad Topperwein was one of the most famous of all the shooters who worked for Winchester as an exhibition shooter and held a great number of records. He and his wife Plinky held shows throughout the US and were renowned for their trick shooting. Topperwein retired near San Antonio, Texas, and we have sold several other Winchesters engraved in the same script. Serial #892421. Est: $4000 - $8000
