Winchester model 12 12ga pump-action shotgun, black diamond trap series, with associated later barrel which is engraved “Harold Smith” on left side of breech. Harold Smith was the owner Harold’s Club of Reno, Nevada, who was a legendary arms collector. This collection was displayed for nearly 50 years in downtown Reno until sold by Butterfield & Butterfield and this still has their auction tag number 3472. The frame is marked “570318”, the barrel is numbered “249385”. The gun shows a 30” barrel, with ventilated factory style spoonback rib, etching on magazine tube and collar. The gun shows 75% original thinning blue, the stocks are fair with some even edgewear, good burl wood grain, and replacement of the diamonds. The hard rubber buttpad is deteriorated. Action good, bore good, stock measures approx. 13-7/8” from the trigger to the end of the wood, approx. 14-5/8” to the end of the pad. An interesting piece of memorabilia from one of Reno’s best-known casino owners and personalities. Est.: $600-$1,200.
