Manufactured in 1889. German silver dovetail blade front and sporting rear sights, with "V. KINDLER" stamped on the right side of the barrel near the breech, in addition to the standard address, patent and caliber markings. Research shows a Mr. Vincent Kindler as a sporting goods dealer operating out of Saginaw, Michigan during the era this arm was made, and his mark has been found on a number of Winchester and Marlin arms. Third Model receiver, with integral dust cover rail, "Model. 1873" one line marking on the upper tang, which has been drilled and tapped, "38 Cal" elevator and serial number on the lower tang. Smooth straight grip stock, with metal forearm tip and a carbine buttplate with storage compartment.

Condition: Fine, with 40% of the original blue finish, showing a mixed brown and gray patina overall, along with light handling marks and a small amount of spotting. The blue is strongest in the protected areas. The hammer and lever show a mixed gray patina, with hints of the original pattern. Stock is very good, with light pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically fine.
