Winchester Model 95 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine
Winchester's first carbine equipped with a non-detachable box magazine, this model was built on a John M. Browning patent and was introduced to meet demand for hunting weapons that could handle more powerful smokeless powder cartridges. This carbine was manufactured in 1902 and features a pinned raised front blade and an adjustable rear military style sight. The frame has contoured sides, indicating later production with a saddle ring attached to the left side. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 95 / -WINCHESTER- / TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF & FGN." and two line address/ patent dates on the left side of the receiver. The top of the receiver is marked ".30 / ARMY". Smooth forearm with finger grooves with a military style hand guard and straight grip stock with steel carbine buttplate with a compartment for a cleaning brush, (not included).

Condition: Period refinished, showing some thinning to brown and some minor pitting under the finish. The barrel has a smooth plum blue with two professionally filled holes on top near the hand guard. The buttplate shows overall minor oxidation. The exception of an area on the left side of the stock that shows a number of minor scratches and scrapes, the wood is very good as freshened with a few minor dents and scratches on the forearm. The markings remain clear and crisp. The action is excellent.
