Winchester Model 94 Trapper Saddle Ring Carbine in Custom Takedown Configuration.
This is a current production Winchester Model 94 Trapper that has been converted to a takedown configuration. There is a push button directly behind the barrel band that is depressed allowing the magazine to slide forward. The front of the receiver has been shortened to accommodate the takedown ring. Standard markings, blade front and adjustable rear semi-buckhorn sights, saddle ring and stud on the left side of the receiver and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a plastic buttplate and sling swivel stud. Complete with original box numbered to gun and manual.. A letter dated July 15, 2010 from Don Schofield states that he believes the carbine to be factory. The rear of the forearm and front of the receiver have been shortened and Winchester proof takedown ring installed. Nonetheless, this 95 SRC is unique and would be very expensive to duplicate!
BBL: 16 inch round
Stock: walnut
Gauge: 30 WCF
Finish: blue
Grips:
Serial Number: 5016904
Condition: Custom as converted possibly by factory with 98% original finish. The takedown ring is a mix of dark blue finish and smooth gray patina. The forearm is a bit ill-fitting at the receiver and the stock is ill-fitting at the tangs, otherwise the wood is excellent with light overall handling marks. The action is excellent. The box is good with a flap missing at one end, various tears and two small holes on the spine.
