Manufactured in 1926. The left rear of the barrel is marked with the model, Winchester trade mark and caliber designation and the right rear is marked with the two line address. The top of the barrel and receiver are marked with the Winchester oval proof at the breech. In addition the top of the barrel is marked with a circled "P" (part) just ahead of the oval proof indicating the barrel is a factory replacement. The underside of the barrel ahead of of the forearm has a filler block in a dovetail slot on the underside which was intended to be a keeper for a rifle forend cap. The upper tang is marked "WINCHESTER/TRADE MARK/MADE IN U.S.A." and the serial number is on the bottom of the receiver. Blade front and adjustable buck horn rear sights, saddle ring staple and ring on the left side of the receiver and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a steel carbine buttplate.

Excellent as factory rebarreled. The barrel and magazine retain 95% original blue finish with some muzzle wear and thinning, showing a few areas of smooth plum patina. The receiver retains 95% original blue finish with some edge wear and scattered minor flaking. The wood is also excellent with a moderate 1/4 inch dent on the bottom of the forearm, and overall a few minor dings and handling marks. The markings remain sharp. The action is excellent.
