This lot features a great example of a Winchester Model 88 .243 Win lever action carbine. The carbine features a blued steel finish, 18 3/4" round barrel, Leather sling, one piece walnut stock, 4 round magazine, and iron sights. Introduced in 1955 for the then new .308 Winchester cartridge, the hammerless Winchester Model 88 was entirely different and technically more advanced than any previous Winchester lever action rifle. In fact, its combination of modern features has never been equaled by any other lever action rifle. This carbine is in good condition, the bluing is in very good condition with little to no wear. The stock is in good condition with some handling marks. This carbine was made in 1969. Modern rifle. FFL transfer or NICS background check required. Serial number is H263342.
