Winchester Model 70 Super Grade Bolt Action Carbine in 300 Savage Caliber

Manufactured in 1946 (receiver) during the transition period (late 1945 to 1951). It is chambered in the rare 300 Savage caliber and pre-64 Model 70 Super Grade carbines in 300 Savage were manufactured on a special order basis only from about 1944 to the 1950s, making it one of the rarest variations of the pre-64 Model 70 carbine on today's collector market. Hooded ramp front sight and Williams filler block in the rear sight dovetail slot on a barrel marked with the Winchester legend on the left side. Receiver tapped for scope mounting at the front and fitted with a Lyman sight (stock inletted). Cloverleaf receiver tang, pre-war safety, polished bolt numbered to the gun and quick release sling swivels. The nicely figured pistol grip stock features multi-point checkering, a cheekpiece, ebony forend tip, Winchester hard rubber grip cap and checkered steel buttplate.

Very fine as professionally refurbished/restored. The carbine retains nearly all of the blue finish showing the slightest handling marks. The stock is near mint showing the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
