Included in this lot for bidding is a Winchester Model 70, bolt action rifle, chambered in 7mm Rem. Magnum. The Model 70 was largely based off of the Model 54, and was nicknamed "The Rifleman's Rifle". Additionally, the Model 70 was coined as the "Bolt Action Rifle of the Century" by Shooting Times Magazine, in 1999. The Model 70 began production in 1936. This rifle was manufactured in 1972. This fine rifle utilizes cut-checkered texture on the walnut fore-grip and grip, 24" blue'd barrel, a gorgeous jeweled bolt, and a Weaver K4-W scope. The rifle is marked in numerous places, reading; "Made in New Haven Conn. U.S.A. - Winchester Proof Steel - Winchester® Model 70 – 7mm Rem. MAGNUM." on the left side of the barrel, "Winchester Trademark" on the padded rubber butt-plate, and "Winchester -Trade Mark-" on the left side of the receiver. The rifle includes the original front sight, and adjustable semi-buckhorn rear sight. Overall, the rifle shows very good mechanical condition, and good aesthetic condition. The rifle has a fantastic bright bore, with very strong rifling, and a tight, smooth action. The walnut butt-stock and fore-grip shows some obvious wear from use, and transport. Serial Number: G1031976. This is a modern firearm and requires a FFL transfer or NICS background check. Matt
