Winchester Model 65 Lever Action Rifle in Scarce 25-20 W.C.F. Caliber

Manufactured in 1933, the first year of production. Winchester manufactured only about 5,700 Model 65 rifles between 1933 and 1947, (with a lesser percentage of these chambered for 25-20 WCF). Standard barrel and tang markings, oval proof on the top of the receiver and barrel at the breech with the serial number marked on the bottom of the receiver. Dovetailed ramped blade front sight with a brass bead, adjustable buckhorn sporting rear sight, blue finish and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with a metal end cap and checkered steel buttplate.

Very good plus. The barrel retains 70% original blue finish with some smooth gray patina and a small area of minor oxidation. The receiver has a smooth gray patina with strong traces of original blue finish in protected areas. The wood has been freshened with a coat of varnish some time ago and remains very good with some minor scratches and handling marks. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
