Included in this lot is a Winchester Model 52 .22 L.R. caliber competition rifle. The Winchester Model 52 was a bolt-action .22-caliber target rifle introduced by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in 1920. For many years it was the premier smallbore match rifle in the United States, if not the world. Known as the "King of the .22's," the Model 52 has been called by Field & Stream one of "the 50 best guns ever made" and by Winchester historian Herbert Houze "perfection in design." This model 52 was manufactured in 1932. These late 52's frequently were fitted with Redfield "Olympic" or "International" match sights which this rifle has. The Model 52 features a straight grain walnut stock and a five round magazine. The blue’d 28” round barrel is marked “Winchester Proof Steel – Model 52 – Winchester Trade Mark – 22 Long R.-“ on the left side. The butt stock is fitted with a metal plate. Serial Number: 26623. This firearm qualifies as a Curio & Relic, and requires FFL Transfer or NICS Background Check. Matt
