Winchester Model 21 Skeet Grade Double Barrel Shotgun with Mutton Case

Introduced by Winchester in 1931 the Model 21 was one of the companies finest efforts with regard to quality, reliability and strength. The model was introduced as a production line gun and moved to the custom shop in 1960, but it was in fact, a hand-build custom-made shotgun from the beginning. This Skeet Grade shotgun was manufactured from 1936 to 1959 and features a white front bead sight on the smooth solid rib. The left rear barrel is marked "WINCHESTER - 12 GAUGE/2 3/4 CHAM". The bottom of the trigger guard plate is marked "SKEET". The water table is marked with the model designation and address on the left side. The Winchester oval proof is marked on the right side of the water table and each barrel flat. The matching serial number is also marked on the barrel flat and the barrels are marked "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL" and "WS-!", "WS-1", (the chokes gauge at modified/improved modified). Single trigger with selector, tang mounted manual safety, ejectors and mounted with checkered, nicely figured walnut beaver tail forearm and pistol grip stock with a plastic Winchester grip cap and vented Pachmayr White Line recoil pad. Length of pull is 13 5/8 inches. Comes with a leather mutton case and three-piece wooden cleaning rod.

Fine. The shotgun retains 80% original blue finish with some high edge wear, areas of smooth gray patina on the bottom of the frame, most of the trigger guard and forearm hardware. The shortened wood is fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches, and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent. The case is very good with some edge wear and some scuffs.
