Winchester Model 1895 Takedown Lever Action Rifle
This was the first non-detachable box magazine rifle offered by Winchester. This rifle was manufactured in 1927 and features a Lyman blade front sight with a ivory bead and adjustable buckhorn rear sight. The left side of the barrel is marked "NICKEL STEEL BARREL / ESPECIALLY FOR SMOKELESS POWDER" and "35 W.C.F.". The left side of the action is marked with the two line address and patent dates, the Winchester oval proof is marked on the barrel and receiver at the breech and the upper tang is marked "MODEL 1895 / WINCHESTER / TRADE MARK REG. U.S. PAT. OFF & FGN.". Fitted with a smooth forearm with ebony forend insert and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Excellent. The barrel retains 98% original bright blue finish with some minor ear at the muzzle and a few minor scratches. The takedown ring has 70% original finish with an area of smooth brown. The receiver retains 97% original finish with some light spotting, some minor scratches and high edge wear. The magazine and lever retain 80% original finish with wear on the magazine from cycling the action and an area of smooth brown patina on the lever loop. The buttplate has a smooth mottled brown patina with strong original finish on the tang. The wood is excellent with only a few minor handling marks overall. Crisp clear markings. The action is excellent.
