Manufactured in 1915, the John Browning designed Model 1895 was the first Winchester lever action to move away from the tubular magazine. Pinned blade front and folding ladder rear sights, with the standard two line address and patent markings on the left side of the frame, "PW/.30/GOV./'06." (scarce) on top of the chamber and the 3-line model marking on the upper tang. Equipped with a saddle ring on the left side. Smooth straight grip stock, with a single barrel band, grasping grooves on the forearm and a smooth buttplate with trapdoor compartment and pull-through barrel brush.

Condition:
Very fine, with 85% of the bright original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, mild edge wear, and scattered spotting and handling marks. A series of five non-factory drilled and tapped holes with screws are present on the left side of the frame. The stock is fine, with some cracking of the rear half of the upper handguard, scattered dents and scratches, and an attractive semi-deluxe grain to the buttstock. Mechanically excellent.
