Winchester Model 1895 Lever Action Rifle
Manufactured in 1904, the Model 1895 was a departure from Winchester's standard gate loaded, tube magazine lever action, with a top loading box magazine more suitable for the smokeless cartridges of the era. German silver blade front and adjustable sporting rear sights with the "35 W.C.F." caliber marking at the rear of the barrel and the two line nickel steel legend on the left side just behind the rear sight. Distinctive scalloped frame, with the two line address and patent markings on the left side and "WINCHESTER/ MODEL 1895" on the upper tang. Smooth straight wrist stock, with an ebony insert in the Schnabel tip forearm and a smooth carbine buttplate.
