Winchester Model 1894 special order rifle in .38-55 caliber with 26” half round-half octagon barrel, full magazine, rifle butt, serial number 309167 made shortly after the turn-of-the-century. The barrel and magazine tube show 75% to 85% plus original blue evenly drifting and toning at the edges with some minor scratches and just beginning normal age. The barrel address is sharp and the rear sight is marked “patent applied for” and is probably a dealer addition in the originaldovetail. The front sight is a standard type in its proper dovetail. The frame shows 60% to 80% original blue drifting at the edges with some minor scratches and just normal aging. The hammer and lever show strong traces of case coloringwithin their patina. The stocks are good to very good with 30% to 50% original varnish, wear at the high points and edges, some small losses and minor perfect imperfections along with just normal aging. The butt plate has gone to a silvery graywith some faint traces of case hardening on the top by the screw. The action is good. The bore is good and still fairly bright with just some minor beginning erosion that may clean and is dirty. Advertised by Winchester as “The Klondike Rifle”
