Winchester Model 1894 SRC, 30 W.C.F. cal., 20” barrel, blue finish, all standard carbine features, #1001723 accompanied by a hand-tooled leather fancy rifle boot showing “ZKC” brand of Zollie K. Campbell, TexasRanger and so marked on the reverse; carbine shows approx. 85% original blue on barrel evenly thinning and toning, traces of original blue drifting on frame; stocks show minor dings, mars and normal use, with agroove or scratch on the right front portion of the fore stock from incorrect removal of the barrel bands; action is good, markings are sharp, bore is fine to excellent. The carbine boot is finely carved in high reliefflorals showing carry and wear and slight cracking, with a luggage-type handle. Carbine also shows a Roman numeral “V” stamped below the serial number and on the butt plate which has been viewed on other Texas Rangerfirearms. Zollie Campbell served around Austin, Texas in the 1930’s and also with Co. D, in Uvalde, Texas. Est.: $1,500-$3,000.
