Winchester Model 1894 SRC, 30-30 cal., blued finish, barrel originally stamped “SFPD”, #977539, made about 1916 with documentation from Michael F. Carrick, staff editor for the Gun Report Magazine stating this was one of a number boughtby Davis Gun Co. with their receipt to Carrick and further stating it was the only SRC out of 80 obtained by Davis Gun Co. from SFPD. Carrick further states his father was a San Francisco Police Officer and he was able to see ColtLightnings and Winchesters in the Police arsenal which was under his father’s command at one time. He further states there is a badge number and date scratched into the stock which was the original date the gun was taken into evidence and hespeculates it was pressed into police service at a later time as it was the only saddle ring carbine in the group. The metal surfaces show 40% original blue drifting to brown; some scratches and erosion; the stock shows a large gouge at thewrist from carry and rack and some smaller bumps and mars; the markings are good; the rear sight is missing its set screw and a small brass screw has been added; the action is good; the bore is excellent; with a portfolio of paperwork; an
