The rifle dates to manufacture year 1902, and features a 21 3/4" round barrel, walnut fixtures, and a adjustable rear sight, paired with a brass blade front sight. The Winchester 94 became one of the most famous and popular hunting rifles of all time - Designed by the renowned John Browning in 1894, and was the first rifle to chamber smokeless powder .30 WCF - otherwise known as the .30-30. The Model 1894 has been referred to as the "ultimate lever-action design" by firearms historians such as R. L. Wilson and Hal Herring.
