"Eastern Carbine" Antique lever action repeating rifle chambered in .30-30 Winchester manufactured in New Haven, CT circa 1894, first year of production. Features a re-blued finish, 20" round barrel, This is a smokeless powder barrel, Winchester used these barrels first in 1895, the carbine has been rebarreled at some point, possibly by the factory, full-length tube magazine, early soldered base with "Sheard" pinned blade front sight , "D.W. King" rear buckhorn sporting sight, smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur, smooth walnut forend with barrel band, and straight grip shoulder stock with crescent metal buttplate, sling swivels. Standard Winchester markings are clear. Rifle retains most of the old re-blued finish with some very minor rubs/scratches. Action is sound, the bore is overall good with strong rifling, scattered very light pitting and the walnut stocks are good, have been lightly sanded. There is a 3" hairline crack on the left wrist.
