Winchester Model 1892 lever action rifle in .25-20 caliber with a 21” octagon barrel, blue finish, rifle butt, straight grip walnut stock, serial number 762691. This rifle remains in fair condition with approximately 40% to 50% finishremaining with most of the loss occurring on the receiver which shows some signs of heavy cleaning long ago with steel wool. The barrel has been cut down 3” and shows most of its blue finish drifting to a brown patina with spots of an old lacquerremaining along with some deep gouges towards the receiver. The rifle butt plate also shows some old lacquer. The rear sight has been replaced and the front sight is of the period but was repositioned when the barrel was cut down. The magazine tubeshows most of its blue finish with some dents on the left side along with some light rust which may clean. The wood is fair to good with some dings, mars and scratches along with some losses of varnish. There is a 1” piece of wood missing onthe right side of the butt stock towards the tang. The fore end also shows nicks and scratches along with a piece of wood missing on the right side towards the froe end cap with a large crack. The left fore end cap screw and magazine tube screw
