Winchester Model 1892 Takedown Lever Action Rifle with Cody Letter
Manufactured in 1906. Accompanied by a Cody letter confirming the serial number, 25/20 caliber, octagon barrel, takedown configuration, plain trigger, that it was received in the warehouse on March 4, 1907 and shipped on March 14, 1907. Standard German silver blade front and adjustable rear buck horn sights and full magazine. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/patent dates ahead of the rear sight, the Winchester oval proof and "25-20 W.C.F." at the breech, with an additional oval proof marked on top of the receiver. The upper tang is marked with the make, model, trade mark marking and the serial number is on the bottom front of the receiver. Mounted with a smooth forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains 60% original finish mixed with smooth brown patina. The magazine retains 90% original finish with areas of smooth brown patina. The takedown ring and top and bottom of the receiver have a smooth gray patina and the receiver sides show about half of the original blue mixed with smooth brown patina. The lever and buttplate have a smooth dark patina. The wood is very good with scattered minor dents and dings. Clear and crisp markings. The action is fine.
