Manufactured in 1900, German silver blade front and adjustable buck horn rear sights, with the two line address on top barrel flat ahead of the front sight and "38 W.C.F." at the breech. Three line model, maker, and patent date markings on the upper tang and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame. Full magazine and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm with steel end cap and straight grip stock with a steel crescent buttplate. Sling swivels have been removed from the forend cap and stock leaving an unfilled hole in the belly of the stock and a ground off stud in the forend cap.

Condition: Fine. The rifle retains 40% original blue finish with most of the finish on the magazine tube. The barrel has a smooth brown patina with streaks of thin original blue finish. The receiver has a smooth gray patina with 25% of original blue finish. The lever and buttplate have a gray patina with some minor pitting on the heel and toe of the buttplate. The wood has been freshened with a coat of varnish some time ago and remains very good with overall scattered minor dings, dents and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
