Winchester Model 1886 special order rifle in .50-110 caliber showing 26” round barrel, half magazine, shotgun butt, three leaf folding express type rear sight, British proofs, serial number 79091. This desirable and rare “Big 50” is verified by factory letter and is completely original as found. The metal surfaces show considerable traces of blue and case hardening mixed in with an untouched patina. The barrel address is sharp and caliber marking and model marking are all good. There are some minor scratches on the barrel. The stocks are good showing some rubbing with linseed oil and some small losses at the edges. The bolt and loading gate show considerable original blue. The action is good and the bore is at least very good and is still fairly bright. The .50-110 caliber is scarce to rare and was the biggest caliber ever available in a Winchester lever action rifle.
