Winchester Model 1886 special order lever action rifle in .50/100/450 caliber, 26” round barrel, full magazine, plain trigger, Lyman folding rear sight and front sight, shotgun butt with hard rubber butt plate, serial number 118762, received in the warehouse April 12, 1899 shipped from the warehouse April 12, 1899 to order number 25987 with all features confirmed by factory letter. The rifle remains in near fine original condition showing approximately 75% to 85% original blue on barrel and magazine tube thinning at the high points and edges. Some minor aging just starting with a few slight scratches. The barrel address and caliber markings are sharp and very clear. The frame shows 80% to 90% original case hardening that is still bright and colorful just beginning to age and drift slightly at the edges. The hammer, lever and forend show 60% to 80% case hardening with some very fiery areas. The stocks are very good and butt stock shows some light cleaning with steel wool but excellent wood to metal fit and still very sharp and crisp. The action is tight, the bore is bright and at least very good showing some wear to the rifling from being shot. A high condition .50 caliber 86 with exceptional case hardening remaining.
