Winchester Model 1876 lever action rifle, serial #17598, 45-60 cal., 28” round bbl, full mag, rifle butt, shipped Oct 24, 1881 to order #28972. The rifle remains in good condition showing a grey to brown patina finish with some patches of blue and evidence of cleaning long ago. Light to moderate scattered erosion and pitting with some heavier pitting on the magazine tube’s right side extending 12” back from muzzle end. A couple areas of serious pitting on right side of frame and some small areas of scattered pin prick pitting. There are some scratch marks and nicks in the cal. marking area at the breech. The markings are all good and visible. The wood is good plus with normal aging, wear, slight imperfections. A folding express rear sight is retained along with original dust cover. Cal. marking on lifter mostly visible. Action good, bore worn. A Representative 1876 that has the “Old West” look. Est. $1,500-3,000
