Winchester Model 1876 lever action rifle, first model, .45-75 caliber, 28” round barrel with fulll magazine, rifle butt, serial number 6858. The rifle remains in very good plus original condition showing 75% to 85%original blue on barrel and magazine tube. There is some slight thinning on the edges of the barrel and some just beginning light normal age. The barrel address is slightly light but fully visible. The front and rearsights are correct. The frame shows 60% to 80% thinning blue and the areas where the finish is lifted are going to an even patina. An original thumbprint dust cover is retained with traces of blue. The loadinggate shows 75% to 85% original blue. The hammer and loading lever show considerable case hardening and some areas of colors within a patina. The stocks are at least very good with minor dings, mars, slightscratches and just normal aging. The forend shows a better than average almost select grain.
