Winchester Model 1876 lever action carbine, 45-75 cal., 22” barrel, blue finish, wood stocks, #46217. A copy of page 58 from Lewis Yearout’s writing on Winchester’s North West Mounted Police Carbines indicates this rifle was in the fifth carbine shipment from the factory on order number 22020 on the date of August 1, 1885 to the NWMP. The gun is in overall very good condition showing liberal traces of muted original blue finish on the barrel and a light grey patina on the receiver with clear markings and a good bore and action. The wood stocks are overall good with some scattered nicks, mars and scratches; no visible NWMP cartouche can be seen on the butt stock. A very desirable variation of the ’76 Carbine. Est.: $3,500-$7,000.
