Winchester Model 1876 SRC, .45-60 cal., barrel & loading tube period shortened to 15-1/2”, blue finish, wood stocks, #15770, period inscribed on left side plate, “Pinos Altos Mex. Mg. Co.”. This gun is in overall good condition showing a dark brown patina on metal surfaces, good action and markings, well-worn bore, overall good wood stocks but well-worn with fore stock shortened and butt stock showing a crack at the top rear and old loss on the left side at the front junction with the frame; lever securing pin is missing. Gun is accompanied by a binder with a factory letter confirming Model, caliber and noting receipt in the warehouse on Oct. 14, 1881 and shipment from the warehouse the next day, Oct. 15, 1881 to order number 28938; also included is an article on the Pinos Altos mine and its history, a 1911 dated pamphlet entitled “Testimonio De La Escritura Social De La Compania Minera San Marcos, S.A.” and three great old cabinet photos of scenes of a Mexican mining operation.
