Winchester Model 1873 saddle ring carbine, factory engraved, gold and nickel plated with deluxe fancy checkered burl walnut stocks retained by Winchester and used as an exhibition gun from 1895 until 1903 and displayed at the New YorkExposition 1898, Pan-American International Exhibition 1901, serial number 205250, original received in the warehouse March 28th,1895. The longest factory letter we have ever viewed in our cataloging history details 20 different occasionsof being received or shipped by the factory. The letter specifically mentions engraving, gold and nickel plate, restocking with fancy stock, refinishing, repairing, and many other interesting entries too numerous to record herein but we will provide a copy to any interested party or prospective buyer. The carbine retains 90% to 95% original soft factory nickel on the barrel that is toning and aging nicely. The magazine tube retains 30% to 50% factory nickel and a goodpatina where the finish has lifted. The barrel bands show 20% to 40% original factory gold within an un-cleaned patina. The frame shows 10% to 20% rich original factory gold plate with the balance and an un-cleaned patina. The engraving is a
