Winchester Model 1873 lever action rifle, .44 cal., 24" round barrel, blue finish, wood stocks, shotgun butt, #192297B. This gun is in overall good + condition showing an old cleaning with the metal surfaces returning to a light to moderatebrown patina finish and underlying scattered light to moderate pin prick pitting and erosion, primarily on the receiver. The side plate is stamped "London Armoury, Jas Kerr & Co, 118 Queen Victoria St. E.C." and British proofs on thebarrel; the bore is good, the action is crisp, the markings are sharp and the stocks are overall good+ with a London Armoury cartouche on the right side of the butt stock. Accompanied by a factory letter confirming round barrel, plain trigger,shotgun butt and rifle configuration and indicating received in the warehouse on September 28, 1885 and shipped from the warehouse on October 8, 1885, order number 22952. The gun is also equipped with swivel eyelets. Est.: $1750-$3500.
