Winchester Model 1873 lever action rifle .38-40 cal., 24” octagon barrel, full magazine, shotgun butt, #402558. Information sheet confirming features, shipped 12/17/1891 to order #16902. Rifle remains in near fine condition showing90%-95% restored blue finish on barrel and magazine tube, just starting to drift on the edges; 70%-75% original blue on frame with some erosion and pin prick pitting just starting, a couple of minor marks on the breech end of thebarrel but generally sharp metal surfaces that are well-preserved with 50%-60% case hardening on lever and hammer; stocks are very good + with some minor dings, mars, scratches and dents. The action is good; the bore is excellent. The quality of the re-finish on the barrel and tube are excellent and we would attribute the re-finish to the factory or Roger’s Gunsmithing or other world class restorer. Est.: $3,000-$6,000.
