Winchester Model 1873 SRC, 44-40 cal., all features as standard on carbine with correct sight, bands and all original parts, #709447B. The barrel and magazine tube show 60%-80% original blue, still bright on barrel; slightly toning onmagazine, some just starting erosion and miniscule pin prick pitting; the frame shows good traces of blue going to patina; the markings are sharp, the edges are crisp; the hammer and lever show traces of case hardening and the loading gate shows of the original blue; the stocks have been lightly refreshed but wood-to-metal fit is very good and probably just cleaned with steel wood and linseed oil or very light coating of varnish. The action is good, the bore is very good + and still shiny. An exceptional ’73 carbine that become prohibitively expensive in any better condition. Est.: $4,000-$8,000.
