Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action rifle
Manufactured in 1892, this Third Model 1873 rifle features a half-octagon barrel and half-magazine. The top barrel flat is marked with the two line address/King's improvement dates, "38 W.C.F." at the breech, "38 CAL" on the bottom of the brass cartridge elevator, the upper tang is marked "MODEL 1873" flanked by the foliate and the serial number is marked on the rear of the lower tang. Brass blade front and adjustable rear buckhorn sights, all blue finish with casehardened lever, buttplate and hammer, and mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with an iron forend cap and crescent buttplate with cleaning rod compartment (rod not included).

Condition: Fine. The barrel retains 40% original finish mixed mostly with smooth mottled brown patina. The frame retains 60% original thin blue finish mixed with smooth plum patina. The lever and buttplate have a smooth mottled silver gray patina. The wood has been refinished and remains very good with all of the finish remaining and a few minor dings and dents. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
