The top of the barrel has the two line address/patent date marking and "32 W.C.F." at the breech. The brass cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL" and the upper tang is marked "MODEL 1873", which has been drilled and tapped for a sight mount. Very good. The barrel and magazine have a smooth brown-gray patina with a smooth dark patina in the protected areas with some scattered moderate scratches. The receiver exhibits some denting near top forward portion of ejection port. The remaining metal surfaces have a smooth dark patina overall. There is some scattered minor to moderate spotting. The front sight has a period repair. The right side of the forearm has a large dent, otherwise the buttstock and forearm are very good with some minor dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
