Manufactured in 1882, this particular example is a Third Model with the distinctive integral dust cover rail. Blade and sporting type rear sights, with full magazine. The top of the barrel is marked with the two line address/King's Improvement patent dates ahead of the rear sight, and there are no caliber markings, but the barrel gauges at 44 caliber. The model designation is marked on the upper tang and the serial number on the lower tang. All blue finish with casehardened hammer and lever, and mounted with a smooth forearm with iron end cap and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate, with compartment (cleaning rod not included).

Condition: Fair. The refinished barrel and magazine have some evidence of cleaning on the magazine tube. The cap on the magazine tube is a replacement. The refinished receiver is mostly a smooth mottled brown patina. The lever has a smooth dark patina and the buttplate is a mottled brownish gray patina with some minor pitting. The wood is good. With the exception of a moderate chip on the upper left forearm, there are scattered minor dents and dings. The markings are clear. The action is very good.
